Red dial watches are rare to find, but when you have a great brand like Zenith making one it is very desirable.  Case reference 041D653.

HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?

The movement in this watch was available between 1965 and 1969, so we have picked a mid point year to say this watch was made circa 1967.

CONDITION

We are great fans of Zenith watches, but it is the dial that attracted us to this watch before the brand.  It changes from deep red, chestnut brown to almost black with every turn of the wrist.  The video is the best representation for this.  Otherwise you have an in house calibre 2542, which is a manual wind 17 jewel movement that runs at 21,600bph.  The movement also features an excenter regulator for fine adjustment.  The case is fully stainless steel including the screw down back, and stamped correctly.  The crown is the original Zenith stamped one.  The band and crystal are new, but we will be replacing the crystal again for one with a chrome ring which we think will improve the look of the watch.

This watch will be supplied with our Certificate of Authenticity.

Please see the HD video for more detail.  All photos and videos are part of the description and are of the actual watch unless mentioned.  We do not photoshop any pictures, and the images are copyright of birthyearwatches.com and should not be used without permission.
