A very nice 35mm manual winding men’s Favre Leuba blue dialed dress watch with hidden lugs and a cabochon crown.

HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?

Completely accurate dating of Favre Lueba watches is not always possible.  We know the movement in this watch was made between 1959 and 1975, so combined with the styling we have settled on the middle of this timeframe.

CONDITION

The watch has a stunning dial combination, which is why we bought this watch (even knowing that we probably couldn’t date the watch accurately!).  The blue dial is fitted with white hour markers, and combined with white hands this makes one of the most legible dials available.  The dial does have one mark between 10 and 11.  The case has hidden mounting points for the strap, so no lugs are needed – this reminds us of the Patek Philippe Ellipse models.  The case does have some tarnishing that might be able to be polished off by machine polishing, but we have left it original as many people prefer patina to irreversible case polishing.  The stone in the crown is probably sapphire, and is not chipped.  The ETA 2510 17 jewel manual wind movement is the higher beat model (21,600 bph) and is working nicely.  The watch also came with the original strap, but this has cracks so we have fitted a new leather item.  We will include the original strap too for those who love as much originality as possible.

This watch will be supplied with our Certificate of Authenticity.
