A classic Rotary watch, with a blend of stainless steel case and a good Swiss manual wind movement. Great value for money!
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
While it is impossible to be absolutely accurate with the date of this watch, we know the movement was in production in 1965. The case for this watch is stamped SD (for Sylvain Dreyfuss, one of the early family members who produced most Rotary watch cases) but also Hong Kong – Hong Kong’s rapid growth in making watch components started about 1963.
CONDITION
Rather than be a true watch manufacturer, Rotary designed and specified their watches from different partner companies. For example, they have never designed and made their own movements, instead using off the shelf movements – in this case a manual wind AS1950/51. Don’t think this is a terrible thing though – spares are plentiful and brands like Heuer, Breitling and Omega has all done similar in the past. The case back is screw down rather than the cheaper clip on case, and made from stainless steel rather than chromed. The dial is clean and has applied numerals all round. The leather strap is new, and could be swapped for a different colour if preferred.
This watch will be supplied with our branded presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity.

From 1st September 2021 we will be planting a tree for every watch we sell, working with the International Tree Foundation (Est 1922) to make this business positive on carbon. By buying anything pre owned you are effectively reusing what already exists, but this takes it further and makes us feel good.
