A good looking, UFO style Roamer manual wind watch with original black dial and manual wind MST movement.

Roamer watches can not easily be dated without paperwork, which we don’t have for this watch. The movement was first introduced in 1955, but the Roamer Logo and the shock protection system was different then. This is a later version with Incabloc shock protection, which was being produced up until the late 1960’s, so this being built circa 1963 is a qualified estimate.

Original black dials from the 1960’s are scarce – you only have to search vintage watch adverts and you hardly ever see a black dial in the adverts even. The one fitted here is good, with just a little reassuring patina to show it is not new. The gold plated (20 microns) case has short lugs and a recessed crown, not unlike a Vacheron Constantin we have (albeit that is 18k gold). The watch has Roamer’s MST 401 calibre movement, which is protected by the original dust cover underneath the screw down case back. The leather strap is new, and could be swapped for a different colour if preferred.

This watch will be supplied with our branded presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity.

From 1st September 2021 we will be planting a tree for every watch we sell, working with the International Tree Foundation (Est 1922) to make this business positive on carbon. By buying anything pre owned you are effectively reusing what already exists, but this takes it further and makes us feel good.
