HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the production dates of the movement, and adverts from the time, we think this watch was made circa 1963. This was before the IOC got so precious about other companies using any word that might be associated with their competition – see this article for the list of things you were not allowed to use prior to the Rio games!
CONDITION
The watch is running nicely. Inside the screw back case is a FHF 73 17 jewel lever movement, that winds nicely. The chromed case has some damage to the bottom of the non crown side, but this is not seen on the wrist at all. The silver dial is clean, and the print is all there and legible. The strap is a new pigskin item of good quality, but could be swapped for a different colour leather strap if preferred.
