Nice black dial with gold plated case.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From looking at vintage watch adverts for this model, and checking the movement production dates, we date this watch to c1963.
CONDITION
Black dialed watches of this period are quite scarce, especially at this price point. Lots of vintage watches with black dials have had their original white/cream dials repainted black, as it hides more. This dial is completely original, as is the case, movement and hands. The acrylic crystal has been polished to remove the scratches, and this one even features the original A signed Avia crown. As the enlarged photos show, the gold plate on the case has stood up well and the whole watch is very nice. We will fit a new leather strap before sending out.
