The Rotary Viscount was a slightly upmarket model with a screw down case back covering the manual wind movement.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
It is difficult to accurately date Rotary watches, but we have had this Viscount model before which is visually very similar and had the sales papers showing it was sold in 1962. We have no evidence to say this watch is any different.
CONDITION
The viscount model we have here has an all stainless steel case rather than chromed, and the case back is a little unusual – the tool holes are tiny! Happily this one spins off with a rubber ball to reveal a Peseux 385 movement with 17 jewels and Incabloc shock protection. This is working well, and we have replaced the metal spacer that came with the watch for a plastic one that holds the movement more securely. We will include the metal one with the watch, in case anyone wants to change it back. The dial has some slight spotting but presents well. The leather strap is new, and could be swapped for a different colour if preferred.
This watch will be supplied with our branded presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity.
Please see the HD video for more detail. All photos and videos are part of the description and are of the actual watch unless mentioned. We do not photoshop any pictures, and the images are copyright of birthyearwatches.com and should not be used without permission.

From 1st September 2021 we will be planting a tree for every watch we sell, working with the International Tree Foundation (Est 1922) to make this business positive on carbon. By buying anything pre owned you are effectively reusing what already exists, but this takes it further and makes us feel good.
