The Swiss firm Kalter were founded in 1961, and this one features an A. Schild manual wind calendar movement and gold plated case.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
Kalter were founded in September 1961 and, judging by how few watches seem to be around, didn’t last long. Given that we suspect this watch was made circa 1962
CONDITION
The watch uses a good AS 1691 movement, with semi quickset date (by rotating back from midnight three hours and then past midnight again). The dial has a couple of small marks, the largest being near the edge of the dial at 10. They are not that noticeable. we have fitted a new leather strap, and the 18mm lugs give the owner a wide choice of straps in future.
