This stainless steel Mirona Luxor Datomatic men’s vintage watch is New Old Stock (NOS) and also has the calendar feature.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
The movement in this watch is a Felsa 4007N, and these were available around 1960 (which also suits the styling). Mirona were first registered in 1943, and Luxor a few years earlier
CONDITION
This watch hides a secret. The dial is stamped for 25 jewels, and the movement is a 17 jewel version. It is likely that the movement was swapped out, and this is why the watch was never sold. The rotor on the movement is engraved for Perfine Watch Co, and they were also registered in 1943, so maybe there is a link between Mirona, Luxor and Perfine? Whatever the history of the watch, we still have a desirable timepiece here. The case is all stainless steel, and at 34mm larger than many of this time period. The dial has a small mark near the date window at three if you look closely. The date can be semi quick set. The hands are perfect, and the leather strap is new.
This watch will be supplied with our branded presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity.
