With an unusual deep serrated bezel, this ladies Omega Cocktail watch packs a mighty punch for its size. Model reference 10965.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the case back movement we can date this watch to being made circa 1960. The serial number could be either late 1959 or early 1960.
CONDITION
Making mechanical watches this small takes a lot of skill. At roughly the same size as a 5 pence piece, this packs a 17 jewel, hand wound movement inside the case yet doesn’t look overfilled. Of course the movement is just a bonus – the distinctive case is the show stopper here. Made of 18k yellow gold, and carrying the Swiss hallmark to prove it, the curved and serrated bezel bounces the light wonderfully – this is best shown in the video. The V shaped lugs compliment the design well, and the lugs are fixed so you have to use an open ended strap on this design. The dial is original and has light patina, but behind the glass you can’t really see the patina. The Omega buckle is gold plated and isn’t showing any wear at all. The leather strap is lightly used, and could be swapped for a different colour or material if preferred providing one can be found. The watch is signed on the dial, case, movement, crown and buckle.
