HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
Corum watches were first available in 1956, and they have had some very different models. From the Bridge, via the Buckingham, Romvlus to the bubble watch they have always had the confidence to do something different (including the horrible Rolls Royce grill watch!). This watch is from their earliest period, when they were establishing themselves, and the movement used was not available until 1960. That is the date we think this watch was made, or shortly afterwards.
CONDITION
With any ribbon like integrated bracelet, fitted to any brand, you should always check the bracelet first. Too small and you will struggle to make it fit. any splits in the sides of the sides of the bracelet will ruin your clothing, and too much twist to the bracelet can make it look odd on the wrist. This is fine on all accounts. The bracelet is full length, with a sliding clasp, so it will fit all but the largest wrists. There are no splits or snags, and the distortion which often happens in this design is mild. Inside the stainless steel case is an ETA based movement, calibre 2391, which is nicely finished and working well. The dial is clean and the hands are straight. There is nothing really negative to report on this watch at all. The watch is signed on the dial, case, movement, crown and clasp.
