A stainless steel, automatic men’s vintage Rotary with unique patina on the dial.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the production dates of the AS1656 automatic movement, combined with the earlier Rotary logo, we can date this watch to being produced circa 1958.
CONDITION
The dial will put some people off. Other people look for this aged look. If the case was damaged, or the movement not running well, then we wouldn’t offer this watch. But as the movement is interesting (off centre rotor, very thin for an auto, due to clever engineering), and the case is stainless steel rather than chromed, it all adds up to an attractive, interesting watch for little money. The green stain on the dial edge is unusual, and rather than trying to hide the mark we have added a green leather Darlena strap to celebrate the patina. Hand winding this movement is possible, but a little notchy. Auto winding is smooth and easy.
This watch will be supplied with our Certificate of Authenticity.
