A scarce Heuer time only watch from the fifties, fitted with an automatic movement. Signed on the dial, movement and case back.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
Heuer were known for their chronograph watches, but in the fifties they experimented with offering time only watches too. It wasn’t an enormous success, so not many sold. They used AS movements, and this movement was first launched in 1955, so we estimate this watch was made circa 1957.
CONDITION
The watch is nice, but when you look closely there are a number of issues. The replacement crown hasn’t been fitted perfectly, and its proud of the case. The dial has dirt on, and the second hand is missing. But overall the watch is still very presentable, and we may get these issues rectified and review this page. The AS 1580 movement is running well, we have polished the crystal and fitted a new leather strap with gold tone buckle.
This watch will be supplied with our Certificate of Authenticity.
