This Timex is a mechanical watch, wrapped in a tyre, designed to be a key ring. Ideal for the car collector!
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
Timex started a factory in Dundee, where this watch was made, in 1946. By 1967 all Timex dials had serial numbers on them, and this watch doesn’t, so we are somewhere between those two dates. If you know more about this Timex Tyre keyring watch then please do contact us.
CONDITION
We confess that we didn’t know anything about this watch, but we were not going to turn it down! We initially disregarded the plastic St Christopher covering the case back, but then we found a few different examples of the same watch sold with the same, so this must be original. The case is made of clear plastic, so without the St Christopher fitted you can see the watch working away. The crystal does have a small crack, but changing this may mean splitting the rubber tyre and it is not a great trade off, so we are keeping the crack. This watch is just a but of fun, but it is working and keeping reasonable time.
This watch will be supplied with a presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity.
Please see the HD video for more detail. All photos and videos are part of the description and are of the actual watch unless mentioned. We do not photoshop any pictures, and the images are copyright of birthyearwatches.com and should not be used without permission.
