A stainless steel men’s Rotary from this period is an excellent value for money Swiss watch.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
There is no database that we know of for dating Rotary watches, which given how popular they are is a shame. But the movement in this watch was in production circa 1955, which also fits the styling so we are happy to say this watch was made circa 1955.
CONDITION
This watch has the 17 jewel FHF350 manual wind movement, which is winding, setting and running well. It has the winged wheel Rotary logo on the barrel cover, consistent with other Rotary watches – they never made their own movements, so this was a cost effective way of showing that the movement was specified for Rotary watches. The case is not stamped for stainless steel, but it is highly likely to be this material – chrome cases of this period would show some wear and tear, which is absent here. The dial is quite attractive, but we are not sure if the hands have been relumed a long time ago The leather strap is new, and could be swapped for a different colour if preferred.
This watch will be supplied with our branded presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity.

From 1st September 2021 we will be planting a tree for every watch we sell, working with the International Tree Foundation (Est 1922) to make this business positive on carbon. By buying anything pre owned you are effectively reusing what already exists, but this takes it further and makes us feel good.
