This Trebex Non Magnetic men’s watch has a cool hour hand and a gilt dial. Unusually it has a 35mm case too – large for the time.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the styling and production dates of the movement we can date this watch to being made circa 1950.
CONDITION
The watch is running well but the case has clear wear to the gold plating. If you can live with the plating as it is, or plan on getting the case replated, then this is an interesting men’s Swiss vintage watch for not a lot of money – not a sentence you will read too often!
Trebex were found in 1938, and we have had a few of their watches before. This example has a BWC (British Watch Cases) case, with fixed lugs, and this houses a manually wound AS1227 movement. We have fitted a new acrylic crystal and the period leather strap is good. There are feint marks on the case back showing where this has had a NATO strap in an one time (so called NATO rash). But the winning part of this watch is the dial ad hour hand that has a large circle built into it. That does make it very easy to differentiate between the two hands, but it is also very stylish. The gilt numerals are all good, and the dial only has a few sports of dirt.
This watch will be supplied with our branded presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity.
