A very clean Everite watch, the in house brand of H. Samuel, with a very clear indicator to who made these watches for them.

HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?

There are no papers or serial number database to match with this watch, but comparing the styling and the production dates of the movement we can estimate this was made circa 1950.

CONDITION

Really nice, and we suspect the watch has spent most of its life in the box (marked inside H. Samuel – For good watches).  When we look at the ETA 984 movement we can see who made this watch for the jewellers – the spring barrel cover has the winged wheel logo of Rotary watches, so it is highly likely that at least this style of Everite watch was commissioned from Rotary.  Everything on the 15 jewel, manual winding movement is working well.  The dial is very clean for a watch that was new in a time where smoky pubs were the norm, and has applied hour markers in gold finish to match the hands.   The case is good, especially around the high wear areas like the lugs, but there is evidence up close of the plating lifting on the bezel.  The leather strap is new, and could be swapped for a different colour if preferred.

This watch will be supplied with the original presentation box, and our Certificate of Authenticity.

From 1st September 2021 we will be planting a tree for every watch we sell, working with the International Tree Foundation (Est 1922) to make this business positive on carbon.  By buying anything pre owned you are effectively reusing what already exists, but this takes it further and makes us feel good.
