With a full lume dial which has wonderful patina, this men’s Roamer was in a waterproof case.

HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?

This watch has two patent numbers on the back.  The last one is number 215999, which was granted for the waterproof case in 1941.  Roamer added two more patents in 1948 that do not appear on this watch, so this watch has to have been made between 1941 and 1948.

CONDITION

Dials are judged in various condition – Like new, repainted, patina and damaged.  This is an excellent example of how patina enhances a watch and make sit totally unique.  The silver dial has staining around the numerals, which fades towards the centre.  This is combined with a clear white seconds track around the outside, syringe hands and a red centre hand for sweep seconds that is matched to the seconds track.  The movement is likely to be the MST in house 372, a seventeen jewel manual wind that is running well.  We haven’t taken the movement out of the case, as these waterproof Roamer cases can be best left sealed for maximum protection, especially it is just being split for a photo.  The lugs have a nice flared design, and are drilled for ease of strap changes.  The leather strap is new, and could be swapped for a different colour if preferred.

This watch will be supplied with our branded presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity.
