A great looking men’s Drewatch from the WW2 period.  Model reference 1027

HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?

The name Drewatch was registered in June 1939, and the movement dates to circa 1945, so we circa 1942 would fit all the clues.  But this watch was selected for the looks rather than the ability to date it accurately.

CONDITION

Drewatch was one of many brands registered during the war to Imowa AG of Zurich.  But don’t be alarmed if you have not heard of them – neither had we!  This is a case of the brand being unimportant if you like the watch.  The chromed case has very nice lugs, with fixed bars to emulate the military look.  The movement is an AS1220 manual wind calibre with sweep seconds and 17 jewels, with is ticking away nicely.  The dial is very good for the period, and the hands are blue and red, possibly replaced but look good.  The one piece leather strap new, and could be swapped for a different colour or more conventional two piece open ended strap if preferred.

This watch will be supplied with our branded presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity.
