The Borm Manufacturing of Elgin USA Golfers Pal isn’t a watch, but a mechanical golf scorecard worn on the wrist.  Model I-X.

HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?

We have searched high and low, and can not find much about this.    The paperwork doesn’t give any clues to the age either.  We are guessing at mid thirties just from the styling, but if you know more then please do contact us.

CONDITION

Made by Borm Manfacturering of Illinois, who seemed to specialise in golf equipment, they paired up with Elgin to co design this Golfer’s Pal wrist scoring device.  To advance the score you can either depress the ‘crown’ button, and the strokes are measured up to 99 strokes.  The dials can be reset manually using the knobs under each number.  Cleverly they have made it impossible to just knock the score back by one, to try and stop cheating!

This is a curious item that we could not resist, and would make an excellent gift for golfers.  It does not appear to have been used at all.  The chromed case is very shiny, so apologies for the reflections in the photographs.

This watch will be supplied with the original cardboard presentation box, which is a bit tatty, papers and our Certificate of Authenticity.

Please see the HD video for more detail.  All photos and videos are part of the description and are of the actual watch unless mentioned.  We do not photoshop any images, and the images are copyright of birthyearwatches.com and should not be used without permission.
