Hamtun is a microbrand that released the all titanium Kracken H2 in 2020, and it quickly sold out.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the supplied warranty card we know this watch was made in February 2020.
CONDITION
Hamtun were quite brave with this model. Choosing titanium for the case and bracelet saves weight, but the extra hard material is also difficult to machine, and to do that at a price under £360 is not easy. This watch has the NH35 Seiko automatic movement, and as an engine for a small production watch it is an excellent choice. It gives the quick set date, hacking and the ability too hand wind the watch without any worries about reliability. The crystal is sapphire, with anti reflective coating on the inside. The titanium case back is a treat for the eyes too, and a wise choice not to put an exhibition case back on a dive watch with an undecorated movement. The crown is screw down too. The ceramic bezel insert is lumed with Tritium, as is the dial, and we have taken a photo using UV light to highlight this. The watch is like new, and still even has the protective plastic on the clasp, and the rubber strap also included has never been fitted.
