Steinhart have won a lot of admirers with their divers watches, and the Ocean One represents great value for money new – and this is cheaper.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the supplied paperwork we can accurately date this watch to being sold in 2018.
CONDITION
Nicknamed the Hulk, this is in part to the green dial and in part to the similar nickname given to the Rolex Submariner with a green bezel that proved so popular. Clearly Steinhart liked the look of the Rolex, and this Ocean one has much of the same styling features. The watch has sold out at time of press directly from Steinhart, but when it was available it was €380 – given the quality of the watch it is incredible that a small company like Steinhart can produce something of this quality for the price. Everything feels solid – the end links have zero slack in the bracelet, the unidirectional bezel clicks firmly, the screw down crown feels positive. The bracelet has been cleaned in our ultrasonic bath, and we have four spare links too. We have also taken a photo of this watch on a camouflage NATO strap that doesn’t come with the watch, but does like quite good! Ask us nicely if we still have it.
