HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the warranty card, which also has matches the limited edition number on the case back, we can accurately date this watch to being sold in February 2018.
CONDITION
Hodinkee is one of the Worlds leading watch websites, and when they announced that they were going to work with Seiko on a limited run of just 1,500 watches based on the already excellent Presage range they sold out quickly, as this was no ordinary Seiko. You can see their full marketing spiel here, which explains the design ethos behind having the crescent moon on the tail of the second hand and repeated on the back, but in essence you get a good watch made better with extra details. Most noticeable of the details is the enamel dial, and so skilled is the process to make this dial they were all entrusted to one craftsman, Mitsuru Yokosawa, who made every dial for this series and is the only man in Japan with the experience to make it possible. Told you it was no ordinary Seiko! The next step up from this would be a Grand Seiko, at five times the price.
This watch is in excellent condition, with just the lightest surface scratches to the surfaces. Everything is running superbly and the blue strap is original and hardly worn. The strap looks to be on the wrong way round, but this is how Seiko do it (we can swap this around if preferred.)
This watch will be supplied with the original outer cardboard boxes, inner wooden presentation box, papers and our Certificate of Authenticity.
