HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
The Guarantee card for this watch isn’t completed, but it is likely that the watch was sold in 2018. This watch is a slight colour variation on the latest model, which is available from Michel Herbelin directly here for £850.
CONDITION
The watch is unpacked, but doesn’t look to have been worn much if at all. There are slight marks on the non crown side of the case, and the signed clasp on the butterfly deployant clasp has tiny marks too.
The watch clearly takes some inspiration from the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore in the styling, but at a different price point (and the AP is a different league in quality too.) But this Michel Herbelin packs a lot of specification into the price – a chronograph with 1/10th seconds, a double large date window, a stainless steel case with sapphire crystal and 100M water resistance. The strap is the original one, and is hardly marked. The large ridged pushers for the chronograph are easy to find and use, and the dial has hidden depths – every time you look at it you notice extra attention to detail. That includes the applied hour markers, the two different paints used on the hands, and even the subdial hands have been painted too.
