HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the case back we can accurately date this watch to being made in February 2017.
CONDITION
The SARB series were some of the bargains of the last few year. Beautifully built, very well specified, and widely considered underpriced they drew sales from Seiko’s more expensive watches to the extent that they were pulled from sale after a very short production run, much to the dealers annoyance. By not making any more the collectors have tried to snap them up while they still can, and here is a chance to get an Alpinist. This one has a few marks around the bezel, but the sapphire crystal is perfect. The lume on the cathedral hands is excellent, like almost all modern Seiko watches. The green dial is very clean and with the gold hour markers a great mix of old and new design. The internal bezel turns smoothly via the crown at 4. The OEM leather strap is new, and could be swapped for a different colour if preferred.
