HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the guarantee card, which has the same serial number on that is engraved on the watch case back, we can accurately date this watch to being sold in March 2009.
CONDITION
Sometimes less is more. If it is possible to scream discreet, then this watch would do that. While other watches boast of water resistance, chronographs, multi calendars and large cases this Longines just tells the time. From appearances this watch could be from any time in the past 70 years, and it meets all the rules of a dress watch perfectly – just two hands to tell the time, leather strap, precious metal and slim – and this is very slim. The nearest new Longines to this would be the Dolce Vita, but that has a smaller case and has a price tag of £3,150 at time of press. Everything is in good order, and the watch is still on the signed strap and buckle. The boxes are a little tatty, showing the sort of vinyl peel that is so often found in boxes of this period. We will fit a new battery before it is sent out, so it will be ready to wear and enjoy.
