This Air-King has the engine turned bezel and the rarer pale pink lume, both options that are not currently available new. Model reference 114210.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number between the bottom lugs we can accurately date this watch to being made in 2007. 2007 was the launch year for this generation of Air-King, a model first launched in 1945.
CONDITION
There were a couple of major upgrades for the reference 114200 over the outgoing 14000. This is natural – the 14000 was in production for 37 years. For 2007 the case was thicker, the bracelet has the newer and better quality clasp, the case rehaut is engraved for Rolex and the serial number (which matches the one engraved between the lugs) and most importantly the Rolex 3130 automatic movement was upgraded to officially certified Chronometer status – a first for the Air-King. The case has a few small marks and the bracelet is the same, but they have not been polished. The sapphire crystal is unmarked and shows a very clean dial behind it. The pink lume is subtle and not something we have seen before, and changes to blue once the lights go out. The signed crown screws down properly and the movement is working perfectly well. The bracelet is quite long and our sister website, SpareLinks.com, may have extra links if required. The bracelet has been cleaned in our ultrasonic bath.
