This limited edition model from Dreyfuss & Co. has a wonderful salmon dial and a good ETA automatic movement. Model reference 1925.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the guarantee paperwork, that matches the serial number on the case back, we can accurately date this watch to being sold in April 2007.
CONDITION
Dreyfuss is the family name for the family that created Rotary watches in 1895, and this 1925 range has a good specification for the price (a similar model is available new still at £795, without the bracelet). From the front the stamped salmon coloured dial is immediately noticeable and it is nicely finished – the word Automatique hinting at the fact these are hand assembled in Switzerland (a key difference between Dreyfuss and modern Rotary watches). They also use Swiss movements, and this one has the ETA 2824-2 25 jewel automatic behind the sapphire crystal exhibition caseback. These would cost nearly as much as the entire watch costs now, and are widely used in good or very good brands (and they can come as chronometer specification, though this watch is not COSC rated). You do get quick set date and hacking though. Everything is working well. The bracelet is very detailed, with each link having nine parts, and it has a signed, concealed clasp.
This watch will be supplied with the original presentation box (missing the inserts), papers and our Certificate of Authenticity.
