This was the Seiko Arctura model to have, due to the sapphire crystal and it’s high scratch resistance. Model reference 7L22-0AJ0 or SNL025.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the case back we can accurately date this watch to being made in July 2006.
CONDITION
The weak spot of the Arctura model was always the crystal, and as they are curved and stick out proudly from the case on the standard models they often get scratched. Seiko use a material called Hardlex for most of their crystals, and it can be scratched quite easily which compounded the problem. On this model however they fitted a flat sapphire crystal, which is both harder to knock and far more scratch resistant. The other unusual feature for this watch is the oversized chronograph – the centre seconds hand is the largest on the watch, with a 45 minute counter on the top right and the hour and minute hands and the date window on the subdial at six. This is all powered by Seiko’s top end kinetic movement, so instead of a battery you have a capacitor that gets charged in the same way an automatic watch winds itself, so it should last 10+ years. The bracelet has the spare links included, so often misplaced. We will install a brand new capacitor before sending the watch out to the new owner. The Arctura is not an easy watch to photograph off the wrist, but we did our best.
This watch will be supplied with the original presentation box, papers and our Certificate of Authenticity. The box is missing the cushion we believe.
