Named after the Jazz legend Miles Davis, the Oris Miles Rectangular may have nothing to with the man, but is still a good watch. Model reference 7525.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the supplied paperwork we can date this watch to being sold in June 2006.
CONDITION
Miles Davis died in 1991, so knew nothing about the deal to use his name (in fact, Miles Davis wore a Breitling Navitimer 806 but we will gloss over that!). But Oris did a limited edition of 750 called Miles Davis, with his name on the dial and case back, and this was the regular watch that sold alongside the limited edition. So without the name attached, what we have is a good day date automatic watch from a very good brand, with the added bonus of nice lume. The day and date can both be quick set via the signed crown, and the curved glass is sapphire crystal. You can also see the red Oris rotor spinning around, thanks to the exhibition case back, but the 17 jewel movement is actually made by ETA, calibre reference 2688. The case has no real damage but has not been polished, so will show light marks. The leather strap is new, and could be swapped for a different colour if preferred. The original but heavily worn black Oris strap is included in the box.
This watch will be supplied with the original presentation box, papers and our Certificate of Authenticity.

From 1st September 2021 we will be planting a tree for every watch we sell, working with the International Tree Foundation (Est 1922) to make this business positive on carbon. By buying anything pre owned you are effectively reusing what already exists, but this takes it further and makes us feel good.
