One of fewer than 40 watches ever made, using NOS parts, this RLT 20 was made by the founder of the Watch Forum.

HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?

Roy L. Taylor founded RLT watch repairs in 1987 and by 1998 had the idea to build his own watches and market them via the internet, becoming a pioneer of the microbrand.  He built a huge forum, with currently over 1.5m posts, and built many different watch models.  Roy himself confirmed to us the RLT 20 was built in 2005.

CONDITION

The RLT 20 was available with either a steel case with either a Pepsi bezel or a black bezel, or teflon case and black bezel like the one we have here.  Given that so few of these were made, and most are in the hands of collectors, waiting for another one to come up may take a while.  The watch was produced by using NOS 1970’s watch cases, paired with NOS FE 5611 automatic movements, with custom dials.  The case features a 60 click, unidirectional divers bezel and a screw down crown, while the movement also has quick set date.  Condition is excellent, with just one mark on the non crown side to report   The leather backed rubber strap is new, and could be swapped for a different style if preferred.

This watch will be supplied with our branded presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity.

Please see the HD video for more detail.  All photos and videos are part of the description and are of the actual watch unless mentioned.  We do not photoshop any pictures, and the images are copyright of birthyearwatches.com and should not be used without permission.

From 1st September 2021 we will be planting a tree for every watch we sell, working with the International Tree Foundation (Est 1922) to make this business positive on carbon.  By buying anything pre owned you are effectively reusing what already exists, but this takes it further and makes us feel good.
