HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the case back we can accurately date this watch to being made in December 2002. The movement was first used in 1990, so this could be from 1992 instead, but it is not in the 1992 catalogue and the widespread use of sapphire crystal suggests it is post 2000.
CONDITION
This slim watch is an ideal daily wearer. The sapphire crystal is very hard to scratch, unlike Seiko’s earlier watches with Hardlex crystals. The quartz movement is a simple set and forget, and the bracelet is long enough for most wrists. The crown is set with a cabochon polished stone, possibly onyx. The condition is good and the hidden butterfly clasp working correctly of course. We will install a brand new battery before sending the watch out to the new owner. The bracelet has been cleaned in our ultrasonic bath.
