SOLD 2002 Ladies Omega Constellation 50th Anniversary

A far rarer automatic ladies Omega, celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the Constellation range.  Model reference 866.1213

HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?

The Constellation range was launched in 1952, so this was launched in 2002 to celebrate the 50th Anniversary.

CONDITION

The vast majority of the Constellation range for women have quartz powered movements, so automatics with sweep seconds and calendar function are a rarity.  If you add that this version is all stainless steel, instead of the more common yellow gold/steel combination, and that it has factory set diamonds on the bezel and dial and the case size is larger than the quartz model then this is a very desirable watch.  The dial is patterned with Ω symbols, and we have only seen this finish on the 50th Anniversary model, and this pattern catches the light nicely.  As do the diamonds – all 51 of them.  The only gold on the watch is an 18K Ω symbol on the clasp, and it is fitting that a watch that could suit a golden anniversary has some gold on it.  The movement is Omega’s 20 jewel calibre 2520, which is all working well.  The bracelet has been cleaned in our ultrasonic bath, and both bracelet and case only have light marks you would expect from a watch that has had careful use.
