HW is the hand winding Zenith Elite, allowing for an even thinner case than the automatic. Model reference 01.1125.650/21.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
This HW Elite model was launched in 1997, and as we don’t have the original sales paperwork we contacted Zenith . After supplying clear photos of the serial numbers and paying the fees we obtained an extract from their archives, showing the watch was delivered on 16th October 2001.
CONDITION
The black dial is underneath a sapphire crystal that has some of the best anti reflective finishing we have seen – it really does look like the crystal is not there at some angles. The dial does have some marks in near the centre and they can disappear completely at some angles but not at others. The hour hand has a mark on it too. The case is all stainless steel, and the sides of the case have a few small marks as it has not been polished. Inside the thin case is Zenith’s calibre 650, which is a treat to wind. The quick set date can be adjusted in both directions, which is handy if you have a few watches you wear in rotation. The leather strap is signed Zenith and is in good used condition, complete with the original signed buckle.
This watch will be supplied with the original wooden presentation box, swingtag that shows the serial number, the Zenith extract from their archives and our Certificate of Authenticity.
This watch has been checked against the Watch Register and has not been reported as lost, stolen or implicated in fraud, and a copy of that certificate will also be included.
