HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the supplied stamped warranty card we can accurately date this watch to being sold in April 2000.
CONDITION
The Saxo is a rarely seen watch with all the right ingredients. This Swiss made watch is not technically a dress watch – the ‘rules’ say true dress watches would not have a date window, or a bracelet, but as the bracelet can be swapped for a leather strap we can negate that aspect. In other ways, the two handed watch with slim case does fit the bill. The blue dial is especially nice, and this is visible from underneath a sapphire crystal (which does have a small scratch near 8). The bracelet is long, and has been cleaned in our ultrasonic bath. There are scuffs on the bracelet, as pointed out on the video, and a ding on the bezel near 10. Under the case back, which is held down by four screws – this watch was originally rated to 100M water resistant – is a 7 jewel ETA 955.112 movement. This is working perfectly and will have a new battery fitted to it before being sent to you. As this watch only has two hands you will not see the giveaway ticking second hand of a standard quartz watch. The box is nice, in having a bow to keep it all together. Ideal for giving, or just for you to unveil.
