No luxury watch can show the time in three separate time zones as easily as this Master Banker from Frank Muller. Model reference 2852MB
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the supplied paperwork, which matches the serial number on the case back, we can accurately date this watch to being sold in March 2000.
Frank Muller is also know as the Master of Complications, and to be able to glance at the time in London, New York and Tokyo simultaneously is a very hard trick to pull off, but he managed it. It is helped by the Cintrée Curvex case that is unique to Franck Muller watches, and makes them easy to identify from across the room to a fellow watch fan. This Master Banker is actually a very practical complication today, where intercontinental Skype calls are everyday things and you do not want to disturb the supplier in China nor the staff in America by calling at the wrong time.
The case , which has light scratches on the flanks that could be polished out, is made from 18k white gold and is stamped as such on the inside of the case back. The same luxury metal is used on the original buckle, which is still on the original strap. The other precious metal used on this watch is the 950 fineness (between 22k and 23k) platinum used on the oscillating weight on the movement. Technically this is not necessary, but Audemars Piguet us 22k yellow gold so why not beat them! That movement is the Franck Muller calibre 2800, and the three time zones are very easy to set and read. The date, behind a very subtle magnifying window, is set by going from midnight to 8pm and back, the so called semi quick set method. Everything is working as it should. The dial is difficult to fault, and has painted silver numerals rather than the more common black that helps elevate this special watch yet higher.
This watch will be supplied with the original outer cardbox presentation box, wooden main box, papers consisting of original certificate and instructions and our Certificate of Authenticity.
