A 1999 Swatch Euroconverter complete with all eleven bezels and the box.  Unworn and in perfect condition.

HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?

Swatch release two main collections each year, and this watch, model SDZ103, was from the Autumn/Winter range in 1999.

CONDITION

This model was launched to help the conversion of the initial 11 countries to adopt the euro from their existing currencies.  In 1999 this was still a ‘virtual’ currency, as notes and coins hadn’t been distributed, and each of the twelve bezels included with the Euroconverter watch showed the different currency exchange rates.  Read more about this period in time here.  The watch features a € symbol in the centre, and to convert what the new Euro price was in Lire, Punts, Guilders etc you would look at the watch dial (instead of 1-12, it has various Euro values) and compare that with the bezel you have chosen.  With a glance at the watch you can see that €20 equated to 131.199 Fr on the French bezel.

The watch is perfect, unused and has had a new battery.  Unusually for Swatches this has a leather strap, so isn’t prone to the cracking that the older plastic straps can suffer from.
