HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
The Alter Ego was launched in 1999, and had a dedicated catalogue showing brand ambassadors like Helena Bonham Carter, Monica Seles and Kristin Scott Thomas, and the same WP1312.BA0750 reference was the first watch featured. The same model was offered last in the 2002/3 catalogue, at a price of £895. This watch has a production stamp on the movement showing it was made in 1999.
CONDITION
The Alter Ego can be subject to a few scuffs, but this one is exceptionally good. The bracelet is as good as you will likely find one, and the case only has a few marks. The sticker is still on the case back. The mother of Pearl dial means this dial will be completely unique, with no two watches the same. This one has strong colours, and the white rehaut is a clever way of showing the hours without drilling the Mother of Pearl. Some Alter Ego models have smooth crowns, which are tricky to grip when setting the time, but this one has the grippy grooves so it is not a problem. The movement is a set and forget ETA quartz, and we will install a brand new battery before sending the watch out to the new owner.
