HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the case back we can accurately date this watch to being made in 1998. However the warranty card, and receipt for purchase, are dated for 2002. Either year could be considered valid for a Birth Year Watch.
CONDITION
The third generation Dynamic can be seen as a little conservative next to the the first two models. The Generation I has the oval UFO case, and the 1980’s second generation had a case cranked over to help the wearer read the time. But generation III was the only model ever to offer a Dynamic Chronograph. Not only does this one have the optional bracelet, which is full length, but also the full box and papers. It would be hard to think there is a better one out there. The hands, which sometimes on this model are missing lume, are perfect and glow well like the dial still. The 44 jewel calibre 1138 is an ETA based item with Dubois-Depraz chronograph module, is rhodium finished for maximum effect. The original dust cover is still in place too. The case and bracelet only have light wear marks, and the sapphire crystal is perfect. The tin box is still protected by the outer box, and the papers show a possible use for this tin as a desktop pencil holder! The bracelet has been cleaned in our ultrasonic bath.
This Dynamic Chronograph makes an excellent alternative to the Omega Speedmaster.
