A 1996 Swatch Olympic Portraits watch, new in the box and unworn, complete with loupe. Unworn and in perfect condition.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
Swatch release two main collections each year, and this watch, model GB178, was from the Spring/Summer range in 1996 to celebrate Swatch being the official timing partner for the Atlanta summer games. We also have the dated guarantee for this watch.
CONDITION
The watch is perfect, unused and has had a new battery. The box has a few storage marks, but nothing serious. Included in the original package was a jewellers loupe, which is still with this example, to allow you to look closer at the different images on the strap. The images are photographs by Annie Leibovitz.
Omega is more commonly associated with the Olympics, but the Omega brand is owned by Swatch so they could pick and choose which brand to promote, when and where.
Our warranty would not cover the plastic strap, as these can become brittle over time.
