HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the guarantee paperwork, which shows the serial number that also appears on the case back, we can accurately date this watch to being sold in October 1996.
CONDITION
With more functions than you care to mention, this Citizen Promaster does it all. The Promaster name was first launched in 1989, and thi watch has the later C100 movement. Happily it is fairly simple to set up – we managed it without consulting the handbook, but it is reassuring that the handbook exists. The only thing we couldn’t set up completely accurately is the perpetual calendar, as it is not possible to set the year past 2006 – we used a different year to show the same day of the week as 2022. Having box and papers is rare for a watch in this price category, but we also have the hangtag and some hold service history. We will install a brand new battery before sending the watch out to the new owner and set it up to their timezone. The watch has a few marks, seen on the photographs, but it is still one of the best ones you are likely to find. The rubber strap is new, and could be swapped for a different colour if preferred.
