Just fully serviced, this classic Datejust has a striped tapestry dial to make it stand out yet further. Model reference 16220.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the W serial number between the bottom two lugs we can date this watch to being made in either 1994 or 1995. However the bracelet also has a date code, this time specifically for 1995.
CONDITION
This all steel Datejust has the benefit of just being fully serviced, along with a new sapphire crystal, so it is ready to wear and enjoy. The sapphire crystal is an aftermarket one which has the correct 2.5x magnification on the cyclops date magnifier, but doesn’t has the tiny etched Rolex logo on it – it does however has anti reflective coating on the underside, and even the genuine ones do not have that. The tapestry dial is faded and quite gorgeous – a personal opinion but it was the reason we selected this watch over dozens of others available. Tapestry dials are quite sought after and this is quite a late version. The Tapestry effect is made by having the strips going over concentric circles, and we have photographed this watch over a close up of a dial to show that. The jubilee bracelet has some stretch – they all do – but is original to the watch. The bracelet is quite long and our sister website, SpareLinks.com, may have extra links if required. Being a later watch this has quick set date.
