A very nice Must de Cartier Vermeil Tank watch, with box, Cartier red velvet pouch, original paperwork and the original folding clasp.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the original guarantee paperwork, which matches the serial number on the case back, we can accurately date this watch to being sold in July 1994.
CONDITION
Cartier watches are never cheap, but the Must de Cartier watches were designed to be the entry level into the exclusive world of Cartier. So instead of solid gold, this watch is solid silver (0.925 standard) that is then topped with a 20 micron coating of 18k gold. This plating can sometime show wear, but not to any extent on this example. Likewise, the cabochon sapphire stone set in the crown can be damaged if knocked on all Cartier watches, but this one is perfect. The leather strap has been replaced – you do need to buy specific straps for Cartier watches due to the clasp design, but there are readily available for around £20 for a quality aftermarket item like we have fitted. The crystal has light scratches only. The movement is the correct Cartier signed item.
