The Heraion Reveil was Jaeger-LeCoultre’s quartz chronograph with alarm watch of the 1990’s. Model reference 116.8.33.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
The supplied paperwork, which matches the serial number of the watch, was not completed correctly when the watch was sold. However, the booklets that come with the watch were printed in 1994, and we have found the model in the 1993/94 JLC sales brochure but it does not feature in the 1995/96 sales brochure, so this much have been made in 1994. The price in 1994 was £2,215, and in comparison an Oris automatic Big Crown was £319 at that time.
CONDITION
This is a complex watch, yet easy to read at a glance. You have the alarm hand, with the blue triangle, which is set by the crown at 10. You have the date, which can be quick set via the crown at three. And you also have the mecha quartz chronograph, which reads in 1/4 seconds, operated by the pushers on the right hand side. In all, about three hundred components were manufactured, polished and assembled to make a Herion Reveil. And they squeezed all this into a case under 9mm thick, making this watch with many complications very comfortable to wear. The bezel, with pulsations scale, is in very nice condition. The case is unpolished, with some marks mainly to the non crown side. The dial is very clean, as is the lume on the hands and dial which still glows nicely. All functions are working, and we will install a brand new battery before sending the watch out to the new owner. The leather strap is used but by JLC, and could be swapped for a different colour or material non JLC strap if preferred. The watch is signed on the dial, case, movement, crown, buckle and strap.
This watch will be supplied with the original inner and outer presentation boxes, papers and our Certificate of Authenticity.
This watch has been checked against the Watch Register and has not been reported as lost, stolen or implicated in fraud, and a copy of that certificate will also be included.
