A barely worn presentation gold watch from Garrard, the Crown jewellers, with box and papers.

HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?

From both the engraving celebrating long service on the case back and the original paperwork we can accurately date this watch to being given to Mr. Pearce in 1993 to reward 25 years employment. To add to the already convincing evidence, the inside of the case back is hallmarked Birmingham 1993.

CONDITION

Many presentation watches are either saved for best, or put away to protect them, and this watch is no different.  The original strap, stamped for Garrard,  doesn’t look to have been worn – the gilt lettering of the brand still very clear to read.  The only marks on the watch are on the case back, where it looks like someone slipped with a tool when changing the battery.  Other than those, the watch could be new.  The watch has a very slim bezel, making it appear larger than the dimensions suggest.  The movement is an ETA 955.112, which is a common watch among quality quartz watches and was also used by Zenith, TAG Heuer and Tissot among many others.  We will install a brand new battery before sending the watch out to the new owner.

This watch will be supplied with the original inner and outer presentation boxes, papers and our Certificate of Authenticity.
