An interesting, possibly unique Slava Bikonur watch that was designed to celebrate the first German astronaut to be sent to the MIR space station.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
On the dial it says 1992. But the story is deeper. The launch of the Soyez SM14 rocket with Klaus-Dietrich Flade was in August 1992.
CONDITION
The watch is interesting. At this point in history the Soviet Union was breaking up, and there was turmoil across the watch industry. We mention this because we can not find any other exact examples of this dial combination. Having secured a second opinion from a renown expert in Soviet watches he too believes it is right. During this period if parts were in short supply, the factories used what was available. This dial is matte, whereas the others have a radial background. The majority of these watches also have a day date movement, and this has a 2414 manual wind calendar movement but the dial has a gap in the pattern for the day window that was never fitted.
This watch will be supplied with our Certificate of Authenticity.
