HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
The Millennium range was launched at the Basel watch fair in 1984. This example has the sales paperwork, complete with the serial number on the watch case back, showing this example was sold in December 1991.
CONDITION
Dunhill products were and are targeted at societies elite – the cheapest men’s tee shirt on their site at time of press is £185. But they sold watches that utilised the quartz technology of the day, making the design to their specifications. You have to say there is a passing resemblance to Cartier in the roman numerals and bi metal straight link bracelet, but Dunhill added their own twist on the Millennium with the helix crown and centre bracelet mount. These are nicely put together watches too, and the clever use of gold plating in between the links ensures it doesn’t wear out. Inside the case you find the ETA movements that Dunhill used (as did TAG Heuer, Gucci, and a host of other makers). This one had a faulty circuit board, which we have replaced and the original signed one is included in the sale. We will install a brand new battery before sending the watch out to the new owner. The bracelet is very long and our sister website, SpareLinks.com, may have extra links if required.
This watch will be supplied with the original presentation box, papers, valet brush and our Certificate of Authenticity.
