HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the case back we can accurately date this watch to being made in July 1991. Alba are part of Seiko, and they use the same dating system as Seiko does.
CONDITION
Normally, complex calendar watches can be difficult to set. But with this you set the time and day by advancing the hands, then with the crown pulled to the first click you can quickset both the month (shown at twelve) and the date on the three o’clock subdial. At the end of shorter months the date can be quickly advanced, and with this being battery powered that is it – the day of the week shouldn’t need to be reset until the next battery change. All is working as it should, and we will install a brand new battery before sending the watch out to the new owner. The case is base metal, and does have some damage to the bottom right lug and in other areas but it is only cosmetic. The bezel is fixed, and the glass is good. The blue leather strap is new, and could be swapped for a different colour or material if preferred.
