HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the original guarantee paperwork, which quotes the serial number hallmark on the case back of this watch, we can accurately date this watch to being sold in March 1990.
CONDITION
Must de Cartier watches have been increasingly popular over the past few years, after a short period in the wilderness. The 21 model was available with either a 28mm case, like this one, or a 31mm case, and the cases were stainless steel with gold plating as are the bracelets. And the bracelet is a mini work of art – each link individually screwed together on each side. Cartier were clever in recessing the gold plated parts of the bracelet, so they stand up to the test of time well. The movement is a Cartier 81, a simple but quality set and forget quartz movement. The blue hands are a typical Cartier touch, as is the matching blue cabochon polished stone set into the crown, and the white dial is behind a wide bezel and sapphire crystal. The case back is covered in scratches, but they are not visible when the watch is worn. We will install a brand new battery before sending the watch out to the new owner.
This watch will be supplied with the original presentation box, papers and our Certificate of Authenticity.
