HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the case back we can accurately date this watch to being made in February 1988.
CONDITION
The Seiko 7A series is a very popular watch, with collectors often having several different examples (some collectors have a lot more!) With a fully serviceable metal movement, with was the first quartz analogue watch to be able to show 1/10th second for the chronograph, it is also very varied in design – you can find military versions, moonphase versions – even James Bond wore one! The one we have here, 7A38-7260, has the day and date display in addition to everything the standard 7A28 has. Both calendar features can be quick set via the crown at 8, and the day can be displayed in either English or French. We will install a brand new battery before sending the watch out to the new owner. The gold plated case has a few wear marks at the edges and on the lugs, but still presents well. The dial and hands are excellent. The leather strap is new, and could be swapped for a different colour or material if preferred. The watch is signed on the dial, case and movement.
